waiting for another ferry....

......will it be our last ferry ride on out trip?  Dunno.....

We left Tallinn heading east and the terrain went from almost flat to dead flat.  On the way we checked out a monistary that was built in the 13th century and attacked many times.  There we talked to some German riders that informed us of a new ferry to Latvia and because we underestimated the size of the Baltic states we decided to skip Riga via the ferry.  As we approached the first of 3 ferrys in Estonia we saw off boat ferry traffic going the other direction with maybe 5k to go and hit the trottle but made it with 20 minutes to spare.  Ended the day with 166km.

The next morning we checked out a tiny pinnusula via foot and jetted to the noon ferry to Saaremaa, an island that was emptied by the soviets after WWII for missle testing and other stuff.  On that ferry a Swedish copule on a tandem gave us lots of helpful hints.  Like the reason no one waves to us is because people never wave to eachother in passing in Estonia.  This island is nice and touristy, yet very rural.  The sun came out and we pushed a huge headwind for 80+k and it was tough.  Stopped to check out the biggest crater in Europe caused by a meteor.  We didn't need to get far cause it was only another 45k to the ferry that doesn't leave until the next day (today).  We're going to check a castle here before departing for the ferry to Latvia tonight.

Last night we hung out with Benjamin from Holland.  He is very well educated about the European Union and told us all sorts of stuff.  One thing I found interesting is that Holland has the lowest use of marajuana in Europe and its also the only place it is legal....hmmm...maybe something for the rest of the world to learn from.
