Cannondale's Trigger 3 is an XC-fast, all-mountain-capable trail ride that hammers the climbs and descends like a demon. Cannondale built their reputation on aluminum frames, and their revolutionary SmartFormed tech delivers a low weight, quick pedal response, and unmatched ride quality. Up front, a 140mm Fox 32 Evolution fork leads the way, and out back a Fox DYAD shock boasts 140mm of rider-tunable, big-hit-swallowing suspension that can be adjusted by a bar-mounted lever to 85mm when it's time to ascend. Up or down, an X7/X9 drivetrain from SRAM has all the right gears, and features SRAM's trademark fast, snappy shifting. WTB Frequency rims and SRAM X9 hubs build into a light, smooth, and sturdy wheelset, and when they're paired with grippy WTB Wolverine tires, the Trigger is ready for whatever terrain lays ahead. And you will be too, with the X-Fusion Hilo dropper seatpost that lets you get you raise and lower your saddle in an instant for charging hard at the descents. You have to put a stop to the fun sometime, and Magura's MT4 hydraulic disc brakes make it easy to scrub speed. A selection of Cannondale's own light components and a racy WTB saddle are just as all-mountain as the rest of the bike.
With Fox's DYAD RT2 rear shock, you can have the best possible performance across the widest spectrum of terrain. Developed in collaboration with Cannondale, the dual-travel, dual-personality DYAD RT2 is actually two completely different shocks housed in one package: Elevate – a shorter travel, smaller volume air shock for rolling and climbing terrain, and Flow – a longer travel, high volume linear air shock for aggressive descending.
Activated on the fly by a handlebar-mounted lever, each mode has its own dedicated damping circuits, fully optimized for the intended terrain. Switching between the Elevate and Flow modes also changes the bike's sag point and geometry. In Elevate mode, the bike rides higher, resulting in steeper head and seat angles and keeping the rider in a better position for climbing and tight technical terrain. In Flow mode, the bottom bracket drops, lowering the center of gravity and making the angles slack and stable, perfect for charging descents.
